English Faculty versus Students Hockey Game
-
English Faculty versus Students Hockey Game (At University of Manitoba, 1976 - in 1975 the students won 9-2) Sometimes looking at trees - or natural irregularities and outcroppings of a hilly landscape they seem like human figures sometimes arms legs even faces appear indistinctly purple people of the twilight imagination Okay I'll get back to that later after the game if I remember Bob Enright's blue beard bobbing and I yelled Bob-Bob-Bob 51-year-old Arthur Adamson skating zig-zag on zero to score (ten years ago somebody says his shadow was so fast he scored twice) And the faces after we win (7-6 and remember last year's 9-2) the faces after the game of if if I never see most of you again and likely it's unlikely I will not remember Art Adamson dancing Bob Enright of CanStudies with tumult dripping from his face in small drops I will not remember Dave Williams charging down ice like a night train into dawn Now I meant to say there was a forest in Dave - having led a poem by the nose here for just that - but it's too damn silly but there wa ssomething I noticed and can't remember and then remember on the prairies there are no mountains Published in a limited edition of 250 copies by Turnstone Press, March 1979. Copyright A.W. Purdy and Arthur Adamson. English Faculty versus Students Hockey Game is the second in a series of Turnstone Press broadstreets., Signed limited edition of English Faculty versus Students Hockey Game broadside by A.W. Purdy.
